All the members of our family are athletic. We either bike, jog, swim, play tennis or hike. We enjoy being energetic and in good shape. Since we want to stay that way, these activities are made as safe as possible, especially when biking or jogging on the road. When my son was little, it was one of the family’s favorite things to do – ride bikes around the neighborhood, even into the night. Even if this wasn’t that long ago, we wore no protective gear. We simply got on our bikes and whisked away! However, things nowadays are different.
I hate to admit it, but it’s a perilous world out there – whizzing cars at ultra speed and carelessness. Whenever you’re in your car, practice defensive driving, the same goes for biking and jogging. I prefer to do these activities on the back roads and hills, but they have their dangers, too. Therefore, to lessen the likelihood of being harmed, I persuaded all the family members to wear a protective head gear, and a reflective vest if done during nightfall, late in the evening or at sunrise in particular. Frequently, we keep away from the roads at night.
